Jay and Mark Briscoe Documentary Announced by AEW and The Players’ Tribune

AEW and The Players’ Tribune announced Wednesday that they are teaming up to release a documentary focused on Mark Briscoe and his late brother and tag team partner, Jay Briscoe.

The documentary, entitled “Two From One: The Briscoe Story,” is set to drop Thursday on the AEW YouTube channel.

“On behalf of the entire Briscoe family, we are honored The Players’ Tribune was interested in sharing our story. We hope fans enjoy the documentary and continue to honor the legacy Jay left both in and out of the ring,” said Mark Briscoe.

In a press release, AEW and TPT divulged that the documentary will be “a tale of brotherhood between Mark and Jay Briscoe, wrestling and life after immense loss.”

It was also noted that “the Briscoe family gave TPT unprecedented access to their lives and experiences in the aftermath of Jay Briscoe’s death.”

Mark and Jay were real-life brothers who began their pro wrestling careers together as a tag team in 2001.

They are best known for the success they enjoyed together in Ring of Honor from 2002 to 2023, holding the ROH World Tag Team Championships 13 times and establishing themselves as arguably one of the greatest tag teams in pro wrestling history.

Jay, who was also a two-time ROH world champion, tragically died at the age of 38 in a car accident on Jan. 17, 2023, leaving behind his wife and three children.

Prior to Jay’s death, the Briscoe Brothers began working for AEW’s version of ROH after AEW purchased the company in March 2022.

They notably had a three-match series against FTR, which culminated with Jay and Mark beating FTR for the ROH world tag team titles in a dog-collar match at Final Battle in December 2022.

Jay died just over one month later, bringing a devastating end to one of the most beloved tag teams of all time.

However, Mark landed a full-time contract with AEW shortly thereafter, allowing him to honor the memory of his late brother.

Mark went on to win the ROH World Championship, and he is now one of AEW’s most popular stars, making regular appearances on Dynamite, Collision and pay-per-views.

On the heels of AEW and TPT releasing “Two From One: The Briscoe Story” on Thursday, Mark will compete Saturday in the men’s Casino Gauntlet match at All In, earning a future AEW World Championship match if he prevails.
