Kate Middleton Wore 4 Meaningful Rings in New Combination at Wimbledon

NEED TO KNOW

  • Kate Middleton wore four meaningful rings at the ladies’ singles final at Wimbledon, sporting them in a never-before-worn stack
  • The Princess of Wales usually wears either her engagement ring or her sapphire eternity ring, but she wore them together for the first time
  • Princess Kate completed the assortment with her wedding ring and an eternity ring

Kate Middleton stacked some of her most meaningful accessories during her weekend at Wimbledon.

The Princess of Wales, 43, stepped out at Wimbledon on July 12 to watch the ladies’ singles final and hand out trophies to the competitors. Although she attended the event solo (before being joined by husband Prince William, eldest son Prince George and daughter Princess Charlotte for the men’s final the following day), she wore some jewelry with family ties.

Princess Kate wore four rings on one finger during the outing. First, she slipped on her gold wedding ring, followed by her sapphire and diamond engagement ring. The third ring appeared to be an eternity ring that had been in her collection for years, and she completed the stack with a gemstone eternity band that she had been wearing consistently over the past year.

While Princess Kate has been wearing her engagement ring or her new eternity band, which is also believed to feature sapphires, Saturday’s Wimbledon outing marked the first time that she wore both at the same time.

Kate debuted the latest addition to her ring stack in a video released last summer to congratulate Team Great Britain on their success at the Paris Olympics. Since then, she’s worn it on other special occasions, including the video released in September announcing she had completed chemotherapy treatment after her cancer diagnosis and on royal outings.

The Princess of Wales seemed to be wearing the new ring in place of her engagement ring. Prince William proposed to her in 2010 with the sapphire and diamond engagement ring that previously belonged to his late mother, Princess Diana.

During a 2023 visit to Wales, Kate revealed more details about the meaningful accessory, sharing it was “exactly the same — the same size.”

Princess Kate added that she was “honored” to wear it and said Princess Diana would have been a “brilliant” grandmother to the couple’s three children, Prince GeorgePrincess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

“We miss her every day,” Kate added.

Princess Kate also regularly wears a diamond eternity band that Prince William reportedly gifted to her following the birth of Prince George as well as her wedding band, made from rare Welsh gold.
