See what you need to know about Pelotonia Ride Weekend 2025
More than 7,000 cyclists are expected to put the rubber to the road during Pelotonia Ride Weekend, rolling through central Ohio Aug. 2-3.
- Over 6,500 cyclists will participate in Pelotonia 2025 from Aug. 1-3, necessitating road closures and restrictions.
- Closures will affect downtown Columbus, New Albany and roads surrounding Abercrombie & Fitch Co. and Kenyon College.
Pelotonia is back for 2025, and there is no bike lane big enough in Columbus (or maybe even the world) to accommodate all 6,500-plus riders expected at the event.
So that means that car lanes will have to become bike lanes and roads around Columbus and beyond will be closed or restricted.
Here are the road closures you can expect for the event, which runs from Aug. 1-3.
Road closures and restrictions
All of the Pelotonia ride starts are set for Aug. 2, impacting these areas:
- Downtown Columbus: Spring Street and Long Street, between Hocking Street and Marconi Boulevard, will both be closed for the start of the 24-mile, 50-mile, 100-mile and 190-mile routes.
- New Albany Schools: Avoid driving on State Route 605 (New Albany Condit Road/High Street). People coming to watch the finish should park at 6500 New Albany Road East and enter the property from New Albany Road East.
- Abercrombie & Fitch Co.: Avoid Kitzmiller Road and instead take US-62 (Johnstown Road) to Central College Road. The entrance to Fitch Path from Smith’s Mill Road will be closed.
- Kenyon College: Spectators must approach guest parking near the Lowry Center from State Route 229.
There will also be traffic delays and restrictions as bikers make their way along the Pelotonia routes. For Columbus drivers, that means delays on Broad Street/U.S. Route 62 as riders pedal their way toward New Albany.
